On Monday, April 8 all eyes were toward the skies as a total solar eclipse crossed North America, passing over Mexico, the United States and Canada. A total eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the earth and sun which completely blocks the face of the sun. Although, Goshen County was not in the path of totality, the eclipse was visible through the mix of cloud cover. According to NASA, the next total solar eclipse which can be seen from the contiguous United States will take place on August 23, 2044.
