TORRINGTON – Steven Louis Anderson passed away Sept. 9, 2018, at Community Hospital in Torrington. He was 76 years old.

Steve was born Jan. 9, 1942, in Scottsbluff, Neb., to Patricia and Ted Anderson.  He lived in Morrill, Neb., until he moved to Torrington with his parents in 1957. He resided at the Goshen Healthcare Community from 1993 until his passing.

Steve was admired and loved by his family and the many friends whom he met through the years. Despite his disabilities, Steve was a happy individual who never forgot a face or a name. One of his favorite activities was playing hymns on the organ while his beloved mother sang along. For someone whose life expectancy at birth was predicted to be 11 years, he lived a remarkable life.

Steve is survived by two brothers: Richard (Lorraine) Anderson of Riverside, Calif., and Robert (Sandi) Anderson of Brea, Calif. He is also survived by one niece and three nephews: Lynn (Benoit) Davy of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mark Anderson of Boulder, Colo., Jon Anderson of Tokyo, Japan, and Mike (Rachelle) Anderson of Temecula, Calif. He also leaves behind three great-nephews and a great-niece.

Steve’s family wishes to thank all at the Care Center who cared for him on a daily basis and those who took the time to visit over the years and bring doughnuts and balloons. Donations in Steve’s memory may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation at YourCPF.org or the charity of your choice.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Goshen Healthcare Community
