TORRINGTONFuneral services for Rhonda Colleen Kern, 67, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday April 13, 2023, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Torrington with Pastor Scott Firminhac officiating. 

Rhonda passed away April 6,2023, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and cremation has taken place. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends can send their condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com In honor of Rhonda’s memory, memorials may be given in Rhonda’s name to Our Savior Lutheran Church or Cathedral Home for Children in Laramie. 

Rhonda was born Dec. 31, 1955, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Harold and Elsie (Welsch) Ring. She grew up on the family farm south of Huntley with her younger sister, Deanne. She graduated in 1974 from Huntley High School and graduated with an associate degree from Eastern Wyoming College in 1976.

Rhonda began working at First National Bank in Torrington in 1976. Her career extended 44 years until her retirement in 2020 as a Personal Banker from the renamed Points West Community Bank.

Rhonda met the love of her life, Gary Kern, in 1974 on a blind date. They married on Aug. 12, 1978, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

Following her retirement in December 2020, she continued to enjoy her many interests including puzzles, cross-stitch, board games, tending to her flowers, and spending time with her four grandchildren. She was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, and all things Wyoming Cowboys. She was a long-time season ticket holder for Wyoming Cowboys football.
Rhonda is survived by her husband of 44 years, Gary of Torrington; daughters Stacey (Clayton) Scholl of Laramie and Kylee (Alex) Willoughby of Timnath, Colorado; four grandchildren, Adelyn Scholl, Elise Willoughby, Connor Willoughby and Grant Willoughby; and her sister Deanne Ring of Ogallala, Nebraska; Uncle Larry (Mary) Ring of Alliance, Nebraska; Aunt June Kimrey of Aurora, Colorado; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Elsie Ring, father-in-law Marvin Kern, mother-in-law Ruth Kern, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
