FORT LARAMIE – Fort Laramie National Historic Site will host its annual “Christmas on the Frontier” program, beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017.
Festivities will conclude at 5 p.m. with the Fort Laramie Historical Association Annual Meeting following. Visitors will be entertained in the mess room of the historic 1874 Cavalry Barracks by some of the area’s favorite musical groups performing their special variety of Christmas music and carols.

Musicians include the Wyo-Ring Handbell Choir, Torrington Fiddlers Association, and the Sugar Valley Singers. Visitors will have the opportunity to mail Christmas cards with the dramatic arrival and departure of a “Pony Express” rider in the Historic District of the Fort, scheduled for 2 p.m.
Refreshments will be provided in the Visitor Center by the Fort Laramie Historical Association throughout the event. In addition, nearly every item in the bookstore and gift shop will be discounted 10% off the regular price. Members of the Historical Association will be given an additional 15% discount – become a member while you’re there and enjoy the extra savings. This is a great opportunity to purchase those perfect Christmas gifts for friends and family, NHS staff said.
Admission to the park is free.
