WYOMING – Precipitation levels varied across Wyoming for the week ending Nov. 13, 2022, according to the Mountain Regional Field Office of the National Agricultural Statistics Service.

TORRINGTON – Brynleigh Kay Fiscus was born Oct. 30, 2022 at 12:03 p.m. Her parents are Shelby Morris and Michael Fiscus of Torrington. Brynleigh’s grandparents are Jolene and David Fales of Torrington and Katie and Gene Fiscus of Edgemont, South Dakota.

GOSHEN COUNTY – Goshen County Education Association (GCEA) hosted a candidate forum for members of the community to have an opportunity to ask Goshen County School District (GCSD) board member candidates questions last week.

TORRINGTON – Goshen County Right to Life will have their bake sale today, Nov. 4 at Pinnacle Bank. The sale begins at 9 a.m. and will go until all goods are gone.

TORRINGTON – The Torrington Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle and pedestrian collision at Main Street (Highway 85) and Valley Road (Highway 26) at 7:02 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26.

GOSHEN COUNTY – Rallying behind Republican Primary Midterm Election winners, strengthening election policies and laws, emboldening Wyoming’s state sovereignty, securing Second Amendment rights, protecting First Amendment rights such as free speech and religious freedoms, and defending American exceptionalism were some convictions expressed by southeast Wyoming Republicans in the tri-county area during a rally hosted by the Goshen County Republican Party (GCGOP) earlier this month in Torrington.

TORRINGTON – Nathan Henry Moore was born on Aug. 18, 2022, at 7:32 a.m. at Torrington Community Hospital. He weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.

It had been approximately 20 years since we had ventured south of Cheyenne. Our hand was forced to cross into this foreign country, Greg had to have a CT scan and it needed to happen in Ft. Collins. Neither one of us are “city drivers”. We are used to the handful of vehicles we encounter on our way to and from town. We hold our own in the cities we call our “home territory”, but other than that, we choose to stay out of the traffic.

TORRINGTON – There potential landline phone issue and potential cell phone scam targeting Goshen County residents, namely, older residents which community members should be aware of; one involving landlines with Centurylink and the other involving cellular phone service with an AT&T contractor at the Sam’s Club in Cheyenne.

GOSHEN COUNTY – Goshen County School District (GCSD) announced its first round 2022 fall school portrait schedule provided by Dirt Road Wife Photography.

GOSHEN COUNTY – Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) has three student, teacher scholarship opportunities. It is encouraging Goshen County School District (GCSD) administrators and students to apply from the elementary through high school levels.

LARAMIE – As food prices continue to rise, University of Wyoming Extension Nutrition and Food Safety and Educator Vicki Hayman offers tips on how to shop smart and save money. Increasing food costs are painfully evident on grocery receipts this summer. “For many people, this means you are going to have to spend more for the same amount of groceries or you are going to need to find ways to spend less,” Hayman comments.

TORRINGTON – Goshen County Library Board Director Ellen Creagar presented the July and end of summer reading program report to the Goshen County Commissioners at its regularly scheduled August meeting on Tuesday; in her report she detailed that two fourth graders had read 4300 minutes, or 72 hours, in just over eight weeks during the summer reading program.

GOSHEN COUNTY – The Goshen County School District (GCSD) held a special meeting Tuesday, August 2 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss contracting of the demolition of the Southeast agriculture shop, contracting for the purchase of a replacement metal building package, action on staffing and consideration of final approval of revisions to the student attendance policy and truancy policy.

TORRINGTON – Art and Loretta Davis would like to announce the marriage of their daughter, Darci Davis, to David Holbert. The couple was wed July 16, 2022, in Riverton. Darci and David are both employed at Fremont County School District 38 and live in Riverton. Art and Loretta are hosting an open-house reception at Table Mountain Vineyards near Torrington on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. to celebrate the newlyweds. All are welcome to attend.

LARAMIE – At the annual Wyoming Wool Growers Association conference this month, University of Wyoming Extension sheep specialist Whit Stewart announced the launch of the Wyoming Wool Initiative.

CHEYENNE – A state of Wyoming veterans service officer from the Wyoming Veterans Commission will conduct community outreach services around Wyoming cities throughout August.

GOSHEN COUNTY – On Tuesday, Goshen County Public Health (GCPH) and Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) reported 166 new COVID-19 probable/positive cases from July 1 through July 12; at least 162 cases were from Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution (WMCI) in Torrington.
