YODER – The Town of Yoder met for the monthly business meeting last week in the community building in Yoder.

Present at the meeting were Yoder Mayor Norman Feagler, council members Bob Oaks, Jenna Krul clerk/treasurer Lillian Green, Rod Weyrich town maintenance supervisor, EMA/grant coordinator Justin Burkart and town attorney Colby Sturgeon who appeared via zoom. Council members Josh Haffner and Amanda Fogle were absent.

Feagler called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. which was then followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Krul motioned to accept the November 2024 agenda as presented which was second by Oaks. The motion passed and the agenda was approved.

The council moved on to approving the October 2024 meeting minutes as presented. Oaks made a motion to accept the minutes which was seconded by Krul. Krul made a motion to accept the special meeting minutes which was then seconded by Oaks.

Oaks made a motion to approve bills for Aflac, Bomgaars, Pinnacle Bank, Productivity Plus, Torrington Office Supply and Wyrulec which was seconded by Krul. The motion carried and the bills were approved.

During the public comment portion of the agenda, Feagler opened the floor to Richard Osmotherly. Osmotherly and other Yoder residents are holding community church services on Sundays in the community building.

Weyrich spoke to the council on resolution 2024-2, a water study for the town of Yoder. Weyrich expressed the study was the first step in getting funding to improve the town’s system. A motion was made by Oaks which was then seconded by Krul to accept the resolution for the water study.

Weyrich also provided the mayor and council a report on the town’s maintenance projects and Burkart gave an update on the grants which were submitted earlier in the year. Green noted the town office will be closed in observance of Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29.

The council then entered an executive session and the meeting was adjourned thereafter at 7:30 p.m. The council will reconvene on Tuesday, December 9 at 7 p.m.
