KIMBALL, Neb. – For the second straight week, Sully Wilson picked up a win.

Wilson topped the field of more than 50 runners to win the Kimball (Nebraska) Cross Country Invite.

The sophomore turned in a time of 17 minutes, 54.03 seconds to pick up the second win in as many weeks. He finished more than 30 seconds ahead of teammate and senior Zab Munoz who finished second in 18:35.04.

Senior Myles Wilson finished 11th in 20:39.77, while Ty Albaugh was 20th in 22:26.30. Sophomore Brody Harrison placed 43rd in 26:22.12, while Camden Lambert was one spot behind in 44th in 26:22.45.

As a team, the Blazers finished second with 69 points. Burns/Pine Bluffs won the meet with 66 points.

In the girls’ division, sophomore Kaycee Kosmicki led the Lady Blazers with a fourth-place finish in 22:59.73. Junior Callie Taylor was sixth in 23:14.69, while freshman Cora Taylor was 17th in 25:51.15.

With only three runners, the Lady Blazers didn’t record a team score, but Hemingford, Nebraska won the team title with 41 points, while Burns/Pine Bluffs was second with 65. Cheyenne South was third with 88.

The Torrington runners travel to Douglas on Friday, Sept. 15.
