TORRINGTON – Wanda Middleswarth, 100, passed away April 12, 2025. 

A viewing will be held at the Colyer Funeral Home April 22 from 3 – 5 p.m. with cremation to follow. A private family graveside burial will be held at a later date.

Wanda was born in Miami, Oklahoma on January 12, 1925. Wanda along with two brothers and a sister were raised on the family farm which raised wheat, cotton and Hereford cattle in Leedey, Oklahoma. 

Wanda graduated from High School and attended Oklahoma State University graduating in 1948 with a degree in Business Education. Wanda became interested in dietetics and pursued her interest through internships and employment in Oklahoma, Wyoming and Nebraska. 

She received her master’s degree in Home Economics at Purdue University. Wanda and Ed Middleswarth were married in 1968. Wanda enjoyed working alongside Ed on the ranch promoting Hereford cattle. Wanda continued to follow her interest in foods by judging foods at various county and state fairs in Wyoming.  

Wanda was a member of Goshen County Cattlewomen, American Hereford Women, American Saler Women, American Dietetic Association and Banner Hospital Auxiliary. Later in her life Wanda’s spare time was spent enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as reading and playing games with her family and friends.  Wanda was a member of the Church of Christ in Scottsbluff, Nebraska where she enjoyed fellowshipping with her church family.

Wanda is survived by a son Jay (Marsha) Middleswarth and a daughter Jane (Ken) Betschart both of Torrington and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, her husband and two brothers, her sister, a grandson and great grandson.

Memorials may be given to the Goshen County Cattlewomen or Goshen County Library.
