TORRINGTON – On the evening of Friday, May 31 the Torrington Police Department and area emergency personnel responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident.

“On May 31, at approximately 7 p.m., TPD (Torrington Police Department) Officers responded to a report of a single vehicle, that had flipped onto its side in the 1700 block of West C Street,” department chief, Matt Johnson said. “When officers arrived on scene, they found a grey sedan, resting on the passenger’s side, in the northbound lane of West C Street.  The investigation revealed that the sedan had been traveling north on West C Street when it struck a parked and unoccupied pickup truck on the east side of the roadway.  The impact caused the sedan to roll, and it came to rest on the passenger’s side.”

The driver of the vehicle was identified as a Torrington resident, according to Johnson.

“She (the driver) was transported by ambulance from the scene for injuries related to the accident and medical concerns,” Johnson said. “The cause of the accident is still being investigated. Officers will take appropriate enforcement action when the investigation is complete.”
