Both the Torrington Tigers 'A' and 'C' teams were in action on Tuesday to kick off week six of the summer season.

CHEYENNE – A double-header on the road between the Torrington Tigers Legion ‘A’ squad and the Cheyenne Post No. 6 team came down to the wire in a double-header on Tuesday.
Four runs by the Tigers in the top of the sixth inning of the first game broke the stalemate between the teams and propelled Torrington to a 13-11 victory. In the second game, the Tigers sealed a 7-4 win.
Game 1
The Tigers outpaced Cheyenne in the opening inning with three runs in the top of the first inning. Landre Greiman and Mac Hibben both doubled for Torrington while Xavier Sanchez singled.
Four runs by the Tigers in the top of the fourth inning widened Torrington’s lead, 8-2. Cheyenne responded with six runs in the bottom of the fourth and the game reached an 8-8 deadlock.
Torrington recaptured the lead, 9-8, in the fifth inning when Drew Kramer slammed a home run into center field.
Cheyenne pulled ahead by a single run, 10-9, in the bottom of the fifth.
The Tigers responded with four runs in the top of the sixth to retake the lead, 13-11.
Overall, Kramer and Greiman set the pace for the Tigers at batting with three hits apiece. Greiman collected three RBI. Hibben contributed two hits to Torrington’s final tally.
On the mound, Colby Sandusky opened for the Tigers, striking out four.
Game 2
The back-and-forth continued into the second game. Torrington established an early lead with four runs in the bottom of the first inning. Greiman doubled, Hibben tripled and Mateo Correa hit a single.
Cheyenne managed to tie the game, 4-4, in the bottom of the third. Torrington replied with a single by Rhett Clarke in the top of the fourth and the Tigers found themselves ahead again, 5-4.
Torrington widened its lead in the top of the seventh with two runs.
The Tigers tallied 11 hits against Cheyenne, including three by Kramer and two each from Clarke and Hibben. Hibben posted two RBI.
Clarke and Caleb Kelly pitched for Torrington with Kelly striking out one.
Tigers C vs. Douglas
The Tigers ‘C’ team hosted a double-header against the Douglas Cats on Tuesday.
The Tigers rallied from a tough 7-2 loss against Douglas in the opening game of a home double-header on June 11 to defeat the Cats, 8-7, in a nailbiter second game. A solid Tigers defense kept the first game tied through seven innings, preventing Douglas from scoring until the extra eighth inning.
