WHEATLAND – The Torrington High School golf team commenced the 2025 spring season with the Lady Blazers taking third and the boys fourth at the Wheatland invitational on Friday, April 11.
The girls progressed to the No. 3 spot on the leaderboard with a score of 332 strokes.
Seniors Madyson Banister and Madison Gibson paced the Lady Blazers with a tie for sixth place at 109 strokes.
Freshman Olivia Edmunds finished 10th with 114 strokes while junior Grace Kelly placed 11th, collecting 115 strokes.
The Torrington boys came in fourth place as a team with 349 strokes.
Junior Caleb Kelly battled his way to the No. 6 spot on the leaderboard with 80 strokes. Wyatt Lynde tied for 14th place at 83 strokes.
“This wasn’t too bad of a start for the spring season considering that most of the kids haven’t touched a club in six months,” coach Jeff Halley said. “I was really encouraged with our top-end boys. They battled well with the defending 3A (Wheatland) and 4A (Cheyenne East) champions from last fall. We have some younger kids that are developing well and hopefully will continue to be a factor this spring and next fall.”
