THS cross country team opens 2023 season

NEWCASTLE – With a mix of Wyoming and South Dakota teams, the Torrington High School cross country team began the 2023 season at Mallow Camp.

The Torrington boys’ team finished fifth as a team.

The Blazers were the highest finishing team from Wyoming with 78 points. Hill City won the team title with 18 points, while Belle Fourche was second with 34. Custer was third with 53.

Sophomore Sully Wilson paced the Blazers to a seventh-place finish in 17 minutes, 57.80 seconds, while senior Zab Munoz was 11th in 18:29.05. Senior Myles Wilson was 18th in 20:19.89, while Ty Albaugh was 47th in 24:43.77. Freshman Camden Lambert finsihed 49th in 26:33.84.

In the girls’ division, sophomore Kaycee Kosmicki placed 13th in 23:22.30, while junior Callie Taylor was 21st in 24:25.32. Cora Taylor finished 24th in 26:02.78.

The Torrington cross country teams are back in action on Friday, Sept. 1 in Gering, Nebraska.
