TORRINGTON – Torrington High School (THS) hosted a series of scrimmages showcasing both the Blazers football team and Lady Blazers volleyball team on Saturday morning.
While the scrimmages did not feature an opponent, the informal games provided an opportunity for THS athletes to experience game-like situations before competition begins.
The football team squared off in series of scrimmages between varsity, junior varsity and freshmen squads at Wiseman Field with the coaches acting as officials.
The Lady Blazers featured two games of three sets, the first pitting freshmen against junior varsity and the second between junior varsity and varsity. Kathy Hamer-Smith and Robin Schainost served as officials during the volleyball games.
