TORRINGTON – Private family graveside services will be held at a later date for Suzanne “Suzie” Jo Lind, 66, who passed away in her home on July 13, 2021. Cremation has taken place. The Colyer Funeral Home assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.
Suzie was born Dec. 23, 1954, in Torrington to Jim and Enid (Kunesh) Lind.
Her early education was received in Lyman, Nebraska and later graduated from Huntley High School in 1973. She then enlisted in the Army National Guard, where she got to see the world. She proudly served for 21 years before obtaining her honorable discharge and retiring from active duty in 1995 as Sargent First Class.
She married in 1980 and later divorced; this however took her to Denver, Colorado where she met many lifelong friends and loved the Colorado life. After returning to Nebraska, she took the postal exam and worked as a mail carrier from 1997 until retiring altogether in 2004. She then moved back to Torrington to be closer to family.
Suzie loved her special kitties, Sammy and Squirt, playing softball, watching the Denver Broncos, baking, canning with her siblings and especially loved making Christmas stockings for all of her family.
Suzie is survived by her sister, Kari (Jeff) McClun, nieces and nephews, Kody (Tyler) McClun, Kiffany McClun, Kassidy McClun, Chris (Cari) Lind and great nieces and nephews, Mason, Kanin, Haisley, Kyson, Shelby, Caleb, and Kaidynce, and aunt, Kayce Weber. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Enid Lind; brother, Randy Lind; nephews, Matthew and Tyler Lind; and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
