TORRINGTON – Children from across Goshen County gathered at the Goshen County Library this past weekend to drop off their beloved stuffed animals for a whimsical “Stuffy Sleepover.” The evening kicked off with story time and snacks, where kids introduced their cuddly companions to the magic of the library. The group enjoyed Bats at the Library by Brian Lies and The Library Dragon by Carmen Agra Deedy before carefully tucking their stuffies into cozy spots in the children’s area for the night.
But as the kids soon discovered, their stuffed friends did not get a good night’s sleep! When they returned the next morning, the library staff welcomed them with breakfast, and as they went to find their stuffed animals, they were not in the places the children had left them. Photos revealed the stuffed animals had been up to all sorts of mischief overnight – playing with toys, reading books, and even sneaking bites of pizza! A huge thank you to the library staff for creating such a magical experience for local children. And if you ever find yourself in the library after hours, tread carefully – you never know what adventures might be unfolding when no one’s watching.
