As the dust begins to finally settle at the Goshen County Fairgrounds the reminder of the beginning of school drifts through Goshen County. Many of us are merely catching our breath from the long, hot and exhausting fair week as we enjoy the ‘calm before the storm,’ before we must adjust to school days and evening sporting activities.
This year, I was fortunate enough to spend a decent amount of time on the grounds enjoying fair, checking out exhibits and visiting with members of the community.
I am proud of you, Goshen County.
From our youth exhibitors who went above and beyond to ‘wow’ the community with the hard work and dedication needed to design, build and execute project after project to our local businesses, clubs and committees who purchased those exhibits and even those of you who just showed up to support the youth of our community. I am proud of you.
From the countless help with activities, events, contests and community participation, to the fair judges, volunteers and employees…I am proud of you.
Goshen County Fair was a hit. And it was because of all of you.
Years ago, the highlight for many during fair week was the carnival. Scheduling conflicts led to the inability to schedule the featured attraction during fair, which has been a difficult pill for some to swallow.
It is sure hard to please everyone but this year so many different hands played a part in a fun, exciting, enjoyable and memorable experience for our community and I feel we should applaud them for the hard work and dedication which was needed to orchestrate an event of such magnitude.
From the ranch rodeos to the obstacle course, there were so many activities and events for the community to take part in and enjoy this year during the week.
From the muttin bustin’ and pig wrestling, Goshen County Fair did not disappoint.
As the summer begins to slowly wrap up, I just wanted to take the time to thank you all for such a wonderful week of fun, food, friends, children and animals but most importantly, thank you for showing up and supporting the youth of Goshen County.
