Rotary club to host gala

TORRINGTON – The Torrington Rotary Club recently announced their Shamrock Shindig which will be held at the Goshen County Fairgrounds Rendezvous Center on March 14.

“We are trying something new this year by replacing the silent auction with a multi-item raffle, with a maximum of 30 items. Guests at the gala will be able to buy raffle tickets at the event and put them in the ticket container featuring the raffle item of their choice(s). We are trying to have higher-dollar items for the raffle, starting at about $100,” the club announced. “Our Rotary Club will be thrilled if you are interested in donating. Our club supports our community in many ways, and the funds we raise at the gala are put to work immediately towards student scholarships and community improvement.”

This year, several members, including Susan Klemola, Dee Ludwig and Marcy Cates, have stepped up to help coordinate raffle items the club explained.

“The Shamrock Shindig will feature sumptuous charcuterie appetizers and two drink tickets for beer or wine. We will also have a cash bar with Irish-inspired cocktails, casino fun, a corn hole tournament, and other fun games.  Please plan on joining us at the event and bring some cash for the games and raffles. We are selling reverse raffle tickets for $100, and the event entry fee is $30. Tickets for both are available from a Rotarian or Platte Valley Bank,” the club explained. “Please let us know if we can pick up your donated items.”
