FORT MORGAN, COLORADO – According to the Morgan County Jail inmate roster, Tyger Rodriguez, 25, was booked into the Morgan County Jail in Fort Morgan, Colorado on Wednesday, March 26 at 2:55 p.m.
A Facebook post from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado confirmed the arrest.
“Following a month-long investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies, a violent fugitive from Wyoming was arrested without incident in Fort Morgan, Colorado,” the office explained. “Tyger M. Rodriguez was taken into custody at approximately 2:30 p.m. in the 17,000 block of Morgan County Road 15. Rodriguez is currently being held at the Morgan County Jail on a no-bond, nationwide extraditable warrant issued by the Goshen County Sheriff’s Office in Wyoming. He is wanted for multiple crimes, including two felony counts of aggravated assault, one involving a deadly weapon.”
According to the office’s release, the United States Marshals Office Fugitive Unit notified Morgan County authorities Rodriguez was possibly hiding in Morgan County. Collaborative efforts confirmed he was in the area.
“Earlier today (March 26), a coordinated law enforcement operation led to Rodriguez’s arrest. Agencies involved included: NE Regional SWAT Team (Sterling Police, Brush Police, Fort Morgan Police, Logan County Sheriff’s Office, and Morgan County Sheriff’s Office); U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force from Colorado and Wyoming; Colorado State Patrol SWAT Team; Boulder County Sheriff’s Office; Douglas County Sheriff’s Office; Colorado Department of Corrections and Colorado Bureau of Investigation,” the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office said. “Upon realizing the significant presence of law enforcement, Rodriguez surrendered peacefully.”
Multiple warrants were issued last month for the Goshen County man following two separate incidents where allegations state Rodriguez assaulted two people, one being Rodriguez’s own sister.
According to court records previously obtained, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a family member’s home on Connelly Avenue in Lingle for a report stating Rodriguez was busting windows out of his car and acting “crazy” on Friday, February 14. Records further explained Rodriguez had attempted to strike his sister with a machete.
A few days later on February 17, Rodriguez assaulted Kristopher “Bo” Duncan of Torrington, records show. The affidavit explains Rodriguez allegedly hit Duncan more than one time in the head with a hammer.
“We are incredibly grateful to all of our law enforcement partners whose dedication and cooperation made this arrest possible,” Sheriff Dave Martin stated in the Facebook release. “We also extend our sincere thanks to the local businesses and citizens who offered their assistance throughout the investigation and today’s operation.”
“We were unable to find Rodriguez in Goshen County but had credible information he was in another jurisdiction. We reached out to the Unites States Marshals Service requesting their assistance in locating Rodriguez. After several weeks and the collaboration of several agencies he was located in Fort Morgan, Colorado,” Goshen County Sheriff Kory Fleenor said. “Yesterday, several agencies worked together in the apprehension of Rodriguez in Fort Morgan, Colorado.”
