ALLYN, Washington – Richard “Dick” Wayne Carl, 87, passed away July 5, 2023 at his home in Allyn, in the care of his loving family.
A celebration of life will take place later this year. Friends may send condolences to the family and view the full obit at www.colyerfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Torrington Senior Friendship Center or the Ryan White Memorial in Dick’s name.
Dick was born October 21, 1935, in Oakville, Washington the son of Earl Edward and Kathleen Bernice (Clark) Carl.
He graduated from Oakville High School in 1955 and was hired by the Department of Licensing in Olympia. After retiring from the state, he became a personal caretaker and had a special love for taking care of others.
In 1957, Dick married Lillian Erickson and the couple had three children; Dawn Marie, Earl Edward and Jeffery Allen. The two later separated. In 1980 he met his life partner Victor Lennen.
He had a love for gardening and flowers and travel and always lived his life to the fullest making numerous friends along the way.
Dick is survived by his partner Victor; children, Dawn (David) Cronk, Earl (Janna) Carl, Jeff (Denise) Carl; grandchildren, Jill (Sara), Jane (Byron), Byron (Kerry) , Nick (Krystal), Naomi, Ashley, Tim (Naomi), David, Haley and Payton; great grandchildren, Noam, Sally, Benji and Simon, Weston, Maria, Jadyn, Eden, Nicholas, Lincoln, Jaxon and Lewis; brother Edward (Amy); sister in law Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews.
