Patrick ‘Pat’ J. Eilert

March 14, 1959 – Januarty 26, 2024


LINGLE – Patrick (Pat) J. Eilert, 64, passed away on January 26, 2024, at his home near Lingle. 

A Memorial service for Pat will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church at 2202 Main St, Torrington.

Pat was born on March 14, 1959, in Denver, to Ervine and Margaret Eilert. The family also lived in Omaha, and Estes Park, before moving north of Lingle in 1972. 

Pat graduated from Lingle-Fort Laramie High, class of 1977 and shortly after he enlisted in the United States Army. Pat served proudly while assigned to the 101st Airborne Division, the “Screaming Eagles” at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and with the 546th Maintenance Company, US Army European Command, at Kaiserslautern, Germany. 

He earned the US Army Sharpshooter Badge for both M-16 Rifle and Hand Grenade. 

A cowboy at heart and returned to his country roots in Wyoming, where he enjoyed working alongside his father on the family property and caring for his beloved horses, dogs and cats. 

He attended Casper College and Eastern Wyoming College earning certifications in Automotive and Refrigeration /HVAV Technology. He utilized these skills at various places in Goshen County before starting work at EWC as a Building Automation & HVAC Technician. Pat retired in 2022 after 24 years with EWC.

He is survived by a brother, Michael (Marsha) Eilert of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina; sisters Mary Kaspar of Scottsbluff, Nebraska and Denise (Johnny) Jones of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and his special friend, Danni Stamm of Torrington. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ervine Eilert II and Rene Eilert.
