TORRINGTON – Pamela A. Schaub Barber of Torrington died on December 30, 2024, at the age of 78. She was surrounded by her family and requested no funeral services to be held.

Pamela was born on November 5, 1946, in Scottsbluff and was the daughter to Edward “Rusty” and Mary Schaub of Lyman. Pam graduated from Lyman High School in 1965. She then married her boyfriend and best friend, David Barber. Whom she celebrated 52 years of marriage with in 2016 before he passed away unexpectedly that same year.

Pam said many times how blessed she was for her family and the family she married in to. They had opened their arms and loved her like one of them. After five years of marriage, they brought to their union a son, John, and daughter, Janelle. Janelle passed away at the age of 32 and left behind four children. Pam was blessed to see and watch four great grandchildren grow. She was also anticipating the arrival of two new great grandchildren. Pam loved all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We were all very close to her and the light of her life. She always had cute and funny stories of her life she would relate to us. There was always a lot of fun and laughter with her family and friends. As we all know Pam would have done anything and everything for her friends and family.

Pam held several leadership positions and a number of jobs but none of them ever stuck out to her quite like the job of loving her family and friends. She was a lover of vacations, last minute trips, card playing, dancing, hunting, and going to different lakes. Dave and Pam’s first 11 years of marriage involved a lot of moving but she always said she loved it. To her it was always like a new adventure, with a new house and the making of new friends. Pam always kept in contact with those friends regardless of the distance. Pam always said she felt blessed and grateful for the life she had and would be ready when The Lord came to take her home. She did not want others to be sad that she was no longer here physically, because she knew and believed fully that she would still be around spiritually to love us from afar.

Pam often voiced she would let them know she was okay and would send signs of her presence after her passing. Pam was a psychic medium and wrote five books (Acceptance, My Psychic Abilities, Memories of Past Lives, Life’s Twists and Turns, and I Am.) They are now collectables. She was born with these special abilities and in turn used them to help a lot of people over the years. This led to special friendships across the country that she always held dear. She was hired by several colleges throughout Nebraska and Wyoming to share her gift and was grateful for those opportunities.

Pam is survived by her son John (Denise) Barber of Golden, Colorado, grandchildren Shaylee Cook, Kaylynn (Anthony) Soliz, Cameron (Meghan) Cook, Jackson (Kaitlin) Reifschneider all of Torrington. Her great grandchildren Carter, Aaliyah, Kenna and Hannah. Pam is also survived by her brother Russell (Kathy) Schaub of Douglas, sister-in-law Judy (Lyle) Walker of Torrington and her sister-in-law Pam Noland of Tacoma, Washington, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pam was proceeded in death by her husband David Barber, daughter Janelle Cook Reifschneider, and both of her parents Mary and Rusty Schaub.
