LINGLE – Scott Flanagan, nationally recognized quilt designer, author, and teacher, will present a special evening program on his quilting experiences and philosophy, and show many of his beautiful quilts on Friday, April 11, 2025, 7 p.m., at North Hills Baptist Church, Lingle. The program is free and open to the public. The program is sponsored by the Goshen County Quilters.

Flanagan began his quilting journey at age seven when he began sewing with his grandmother to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief. He grew up in Longmont, Colorado, and later moved to Fremont, Nebraska. After college, he first worked as a local sales rep for both home and long arm sewing machines, when he began creating his own quilt designs.

Flanagan comes from a family of crafters and woodworkers, and his geometric quilt designs often reflect this heritage. He started his own quilt design company in 2011, 4th and Main Designs, and is regularly featured in national quilting magazines. He has also designed several lines of fabric for Northcott and Banyan Batiks. Flanagan strives to develop patterns that even a confident beginner can handle and makes sure his directions are clear and simple. He sums up his quilting philosophy with two concepts: (1) “A quilt is only hard if you have been told it is hard beforehand;” and (2) “you learn some of the best lessons from the mistakes made along the quilting journey.”

Please use the door facing west in the lower parking lot to enter the church and lecture area. For additional information please contact Dee Haden, 307-534-6067.
