Jo was born October 4, 1947, in Cheyenne, to Clyde and Eneva (DuVall) Caster. She lived outside of Chugwater with her parents and four siblings. Jo met her future husband Sam, when he also moved to Chugwater in high school. Jo and Sam graduated from Chugwater and married in October of 1968 and lived in Denver, Colorado and Cheyenne where Jo worked while Sam went to school. They then changed back to ranch work and lived and worked together in Harrison, Nebraska where they raised their three children. After ranching in a few areas, they finally settled outside Lingle, and Jo worked at Banner Health for over 20 years before she retired.

Jo enjoyed working at the Banner Clinic and meeting all the people of Torrington. She enjoyed being outside in her yard playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and watching them grow. She was an avid Colorado Sports enthusiast especially for the Avalanche, Rockies and was very happy when the Nuggets won the championship.

After 2020, Jo suffered from sudden illness and her health slowly deteriorated. She is survived by her sister Ruth (Caster) Vaughn of Chugwater; her brother Clyde “Butch” Caster Jr (Francis) of Chugwater; her children Jennifer (Trenton Evenson, Melissa (Kyle) Walker and Chester (Jessica) Brooks; seventeen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Sam; and two sisters.
