My name is Peggy. I am a true Peggy, not a Margaret.
I am the youngest of four. Two biological sisters, and a brother that came to us another route.
I refer to myself as a blessed surprise. My siblings have a different term. The age difference between us is significant.
Everyone once in a while I go back to Wheatland where my siblings graduated. People remember the older Baker girls and Bob, but it seems that the tag along is often forgotten.
When we moved from Wheatland to Lingle, all my siblings were gone, and I was the only kid that made the move. I officially became an only child and milked it for all it was worth.
The tables were turned, and people in Goshen County knew me, but didn’t know the older kids.
I have been known, and I have been forgotten. It doesn’t bother me to be forgotten! I love the looks on people’s faces when they think on it and get all the pieces put together.
Isn’t that the way of life! People come and people go, we move, we stay, things change, and at times things stay the same! Life!
Through all the moving, and changing, the ups and the downs and the living life to the fullest, I am thankful that there is one constant.
God knows me. He’s known me from the beginning.
Psalm 139:13-14 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
He knows me better than anyone ever could.
Psalm 139:1-3 You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
Most of all He knows I am His. He knows the day and the hour I became His. All I had to do was confess that I am a sinner in need of a savior, and invite Him into my life!
Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
He has engraved my name on the palms of His hands. My name, His hands.
Isaiah 49:16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.
HE knows you too. Always has, always will. You are not alone, He will never forget.
