Marilyn Greene Boston passed away peacefully at her home on July 3, 2024, in Torrington. Burial was held in the Valley View Cemetery. She was born on February 16, 1943, in Charleston, West Virginia, to Corbett and Lola Greene. She was a resident of Torrington, and was a 1960 graduate of Nitro High School in Nitro, West Virginia. She married Kay Arthur Boston on August 11, 1961, in Casper. She was a mother and homemaker until 1986, when she completed an associate degree in nursing and worked as a registered nurse at Oconee Hospital in South Carolina. Then she moved with her husband back to Wyoming, where she became a school nurse at Lingle/Ft. Laramie. After her retirement in 2006, Marilyn continued to teach piano to young people in her community. A lifelong musician, she played the organ and piano at her churches wherever she lived. She was an active and committed mother to her three children and a devoted companion and best friend to her husband, Kay. She loved and served her family all her life, as she did her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, with all her heart, soul, and mind. Marilyn brought great joy and friendship to all she met, especially to her husband of sixty-three years.
She is survived by him and her younger brother Dwight Greene and his wife Margaret, as well as her three children: Kenneth Boston and his wife Norma, Michele Grise and her husband Jeff, and Bethany Rose. Her five grandchildren are Joshua Boston, Jonathan and Rachel Grise, and Henry and Hannah Rose, and there are many cousins, nephews, and nieces on both sides of the family.
