TORRINGTON – Funeral services for Margaret Elizabeth Hohnstein, 90, will be held 10 a.m., Friday, February 16, 2024, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jeff Wayland officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. The casket will be closed. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Torrington United Methodist Church Endowment Fund or Horizon Hospice in Lincoln, Nebraska. 

Margaret passed away peacefully with her family at her side February 8, 2024, in Lincoln. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com 

Margaret was born August 8, 1933, to Jack and Lynette Williams in Casper. She grew up in Cheyenne where she attended Cheyenne Public Schools. 

Margaret took course at the college after graduating from High School in Cheyenne in 1951. She worked at Fort Francis E. Warren Air Force Base as a civilian steno. She married Dale W. Hohnstein October 4, 1958, who was from Harvard, Nebraska. Dale taught communications on the base at the time. 

To this marriage two sons were born: Marlan Dale and Brant William. Margaret is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law; Marlan (Diane) of Lincoln and Brant (Mary) of Broomfield, Colorado. Grandchildren of Dale and Margaret are Ryan (Sara), Evan (Taylor) and Amanda. One step-grandson Tyler, six great-grandchildren, Five boys; Bennett, William, Samiel, Camden, Grayson and one girl Ember. 

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Dale, brother Jerome Joseph (JJ), her parents Jack and Lynette and also Harlan Ohlsen the father who adopted Margaret and step-grandson Mitchell Bengford and grandparents.
