TORRINGTON – Dave Bussey, 70, passed away at his home in Crawfordville, Florida April 26, 2024. Loren David Bussey was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma July 6, 1953 and lived in several locations during his childhood. He graduated from THS and attended EWC. He was a market manager at Publix Supermarkets until he retired in 2016.
Dave was a man of many interests and talents. He enjoyed HAM radio, riding Harley’s, playing in a band, painting, flying model airplanes, woodworking, and traveling to visit relatives and historic sites. He had a larger-than-life personality and was known for his infectious laughter and love of life. He cherished his family above all else, finding his greatest joy in his children and grandchildren. Dave shared his passions with his high school sweetheart and wife, Midge (nee McElhaney) for 50 plus years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marie “Midge” Bussey; son Scott (Alison); and grandchildren Chayton (Riley) Bussey, Caylie (Dylan) Atkins,and Cayden Bussey as well as siblings James and Robert Bussey, and Marylin Beckberger. Dave was preceded in death by his son Paul Bussey and his parents Hattie and Robert Bussey.
