LINGLE – The Lingle-Fort Laramie Lions Club held their annual Christmas dinner and gift auction on Monday, December 9. Bill Carr was the master of ceremonies and opened the evening with the Pledge of Allegiance. Present was auctioneer, Terry McIntosh and Miss Merry Christmas, Sarah Birdsall, who was also available to distribute gifts as the auction proceeded there were also people present from the Torrington Lions club and the Lions club.
The Lingle Fort Laramie FBLA members were also available to help by giving back to the community. The Lingle Lions Club gives money to the Lingle Fort Laramie FBLA for their business competitions each year.
The proceeds from the auction go towards Allen H. Stewart Lions Camp for visually impaired children and adults. There were several businesses who donated gifts to be auctioned and the remaining gifts were donated by the Lions Club members and were wrapped at the Haystack Convenience store in Fort Laramie. Bloedorn Lumber, Bud Watson and Wyoming Wellness Center as well as Bomgaars were the donors for auction items.
The evening started with appetizers and moved on to a dinner of him scallop potatoes, green beans, fresh green salad, rolls, and apple cider along with other drinks the dessert was a spiced cake made by Kerry Rose.
According to Carr, fun was had by all while Miss Merry Christmas handed out the purchased presents.
“We raised $5,245 with 100% [of the proceeds] going to the Allen Stewart Lions Camp on Casper Mountain where the school for the blind and sight impaired is held every year,” Carr explained.
