LFL/SE boys rout Burns-PB

LINGLE – The combined Lingle-Fort Laramie/Southeast (LFL/SE) wrestling team routed Burns-Pine Bluffs, 51-24, in a dual on Thursday, January 16. The victory cemented LFL/SE’s undefeated record for home duals.

On Friday, LFL/SE traveled to Newcastle for the Dogie Invitational where LFL/SE advanced to fifth place overall with 169 team points. The other teams in the top five consisted of large 4A schools from Wyoming and a team from South Dakota.

Seniors Nathan Fish and Louden Bremer both snagged the championship in their respective weight classes in Newcastle.

“It was great to see our teams come out on top with a dual victory,” coach Brandon Gifford said. “I thought both our boys and girls wrestled well and we won the matches we had to win. We knew that it would be tough giving up the number of open weights and our kids responded well and came away with a solid win in front of our home crowd. Louden and Nathan were solid this weekend (at Newcastle) picking up championships.”
