LFL sweeps competition

LINGLE – The Lingle-Fort Laramie (LFL) volleyball team successfully defended the Dogger Dome for the Lady Doggers’ two final home games of the season against Rock River and Hanna-Elk Mountain (HEM) on Saturday, October 11.

LFL swept HEM in the first game on Saturday morning, 25-13, 25-16 and 25-7.

The Lady Doggers showed no mercy against Rock River with a victory in three sets, 25-10, 25-16 and 25-13.

The back-to-back wins improved LFL’s overall record to 14-9 and the Lady Doggers remain No. 2 in the 1A Southeast Quadrant.

Rock River

The Lady Doggers took control of the first set at two and never looked back.

LFL more than doubled Rock River in scoring, 10-4, with early kills by  senior Hallie Fuller, sophomore Shaylyn Wunder, senior Skyla Wunder, sophomore Hayden Willey and senior Lilley Lawrence along with aces from Fuller and Skyla Wunder.

A 7-3 run by the Lady Doggers maintained the lead for LFL, 17-7. Willey, Fuller and junior Charlotte Speckner powered over kills while senior Jordynn Speckner aced a serve.

The Lady Doggers clinched the win in the first set with a 3-0 run, including kills by Skyla Wunder and Shaylyn Wunder and a ace by Charlotte Speckner.

Shaylyn Wunder reached up for a block, resulting in game point, 25-10.

The Lady Doggers kicked the second set off with a 7-2 run. Charlotte Speckner tipped over the first point while Fuller, Skyla Wunder and Shaylyn Wunder each delivered kills and Charlotte Speckner aced a serve.

LFL bracketed the second set with an 11-5 run, including three kills from junior Addison Wilkins, two by Shaylyn Wunder, a block from Fuller and aces by Charlotte Speckner and Shaylyn Wunder.

A pair of kills by Fuller resulted in game point, 25-16.

The Lady Doggers hit the ground running in the third set with a 12-1 run. Charlotte Speckner, Shaylyn Wunder and Skyla Wunder controlled the net offensively with kills. Shaylyn Wunder defended the net with a block and Frederick aced a pair of serves.

Lawrence took LFL to 15 with a block. The Lady Doggers pulled up, 22-11, with kills from Willey, Fuller and Charlotte Speckner and two aces by Jordynn Speckner.

Frederick served up two aces for game point, 25-13.

Official and full stats from the HEM match was not available at press time.

Unofficially, Wilkins led offensively against HEM with six kills. Skyla Wunder and Willey each posted five kills, Fuller four, Shaylyn Wunder three and Charlotte Speckner two.

Fuller and Skyla Wunder both aced four serves. Charlotte Speckner tallied three aces and defended the net against HEM with one block.
