GUERNSEY – The Lingle-Fort Laramie volleyball team evened their season record at 6-6 with a 3-0 sweep of the Guernsey-Sunrise Lady Vikings on Friday evening.

Over the course of the three sets, the Lady Doggers gave up only 26 points en route to a 25-5, 25-11, 25-10 victory.

“It was a clean sweep for the Doggers, winning all three matches,” LFL coach Chelsi Jackson said. “I was really impressed with our teams for keeping the intensity high, in matches like this it is very easy to play to the level of your opponent and they didn’t do that.”

Junior Brenly Shipp led the Lady Doggers with 10 kills, while senior Natalie Speckner recorded a team-high two blocks. Speckner also led the team with nine digs and six aces. Senior Leah Foster dished out 16 assists.

The Lady Doggers (6-6 overall and 1-1 in the 2A Southeast) hosts the defending state champion Burns Lady Broncs (7-8 and 2-0) on Friday for Homecoming. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m. The next day, LFL heads to the Niobrara County Invite in Lusk. First serve is scheduled for 9 a.m.
