TORRINGTON – Larry Max Chatterton, 83, of Torrington, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado. Private family services will be held with inurnment at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. 

It is respectfully requested that memorials in Larry’s honor be directed to the Torrington Emergency Medical Services at 2241 E B Street, Torrington, WY 82240.

Larry was born in Bridgeport, Nebraska to Joseph and Iva (Wood) Barden on December 11, 1939, and was later adopted by Lloyd Chatterton. He received his education and graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1958. He attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie, and Chadron State College where he received his master’s degree in special education. He taught in Wyoming and Nebraska schools K – 12th Grade.

He was united in marriage to JoAnn Kautz on Oct 18, 1959. She passed away on Nov 10, 1993. He later married Henrietta Hoff on Oct 29, 1994, blending families together.

Larry is survived by his wife Henrietta Kay Chatterton; daughter Kalie (Ted) Dalbey of Gering, Nebraska; son Allan Chatterton of Scottsbluff; stepdaughters Debra (Ken) Gall of Piedmont, South Dakota and Angela (Matt) Shaske of Fargo, North Dakota. He was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren; and special friend health care nurse Courtney Swartzkopf.

Larry was preceded by his parents Lloyd and Iva Chatterton, first wife JoAnn Chatterton, half-sister Dottie Lou Smith, and half-brother William Chatterton.
