POWELL – The Eastern Wyoming College (EWC) Lady Lancers secured the NJCAA Region IX North Championship with two more conference victories over the weekend on October 25-26.
The Lady Lancers are currently undefeated in conference play with a 10-0 record, assuring EWC the regional championship for the first time since 1998.

EWC kicked off the weekend with a 3-2 victory against Northwest College in Powell. The Lady Lancers proved once again they are capable of recovering from an early setback to win in a neck-and-neck, five-set battle.
Northwest won the first set, 25-15. EWC responded in the second set to defeat Northwest, 25-23. Powell went on to win the third set, 25-23.
Digging deep, the Lady Lancers triumphed in the fourth set, 25-19, before pulling out all the stops in the tiebreaker fifth set to beat Northwest College, 15-6.
Three Lady Lancers posted double-digit kills against Northwest College, led by sophomore Belle Dolan with 15, freshman Una Stepic 13 and sophomore Siala Unufe 12. Freshmen Annika Cantrell and Amarie Huntsman each tallied six kills with two by freshman Adisyn Rollins.
Sophomore Emma Blackstar played setter and delivered 27 assists.
Unufe and freshman Vladana Ristic both aced two serves while sophomores Boden Liljedahl and Neeley Rutledge each served up one ace.
Defensively, Liljedahl covered the floor with 23 digs. Stepic, Rollins, Cantrell and Unufe each contributed one block.
On Saturday, EWC defeated Central Wyoming College on the road in three sets: 25-19, 25-23 and 25-19.
Nine Lady Lancers posted kills against Central Wyoming, led by Dolan with 10. Huntsman totaled nine kills, Unufe and Stepic eight, Cantrell four, Rollins two and one apiece by sophomore Baylor Rodgers, freshman Mina Milivojevic and Blackstar.
Ristic and Blackstar both posted two aces with one each by Liljedahl and Unufe.
Blackstar passed the ball for 21 assists and Boden recorded 16 digs.
EWC excelled in blocking against Central Wyoming with 23, led by Unufe with seven. Dolan contributed five blocks, Stepic four, Milivojevic three, Cantrell two and Huntsman one.
