SARATOGA – The Lingle-Fort Laramie (LFL) Lady Doggers volleyball team posted a 3-2 record at the annual 1A Jamboree hosted by Saratoga and Encampment from September 13-14.
The Lady Doggers defeated both Saratoga and Dubois on Friday, followed by a victory against Hulett on Saturday. LFL fell to both Little Snake River and Riverside, although the Riverside match came down to a few points in three close sets.
“We had a weekend of adversity, dealing with illness and injury,” coach Emily Cottrell said. “We were able to move the girls around, though, work together and still have a productive weekend. We passed the ball well and got into an offensive rhythm in several games.”
Cottrell was “especially proud” of how the team faced challenges and adapted to the situation at a moment’s notice.
“We got a look at teams we haven’t seen in several years and had time to bond as a unit,” Cottrell added. “Overall, I am happy with our performance. We continue to grow and improve each week, one game at a time.”
