BUFFALO – The Torrington High School Lady Blazers soccer team boarded the bus for their first conference game of the season against the Buffalo Lady Bison on Saturday, March 29.
Light snow fell throughout the game on the cold, gray afternoon.
Buffalo scored three goals in the opening 30 minutes of regulation to establish a 3-0 lead at halftime.
The Lady Blazers defense dug in after the Lady Bison’s third goal at around 12 minutes to prevent Buffalo from scoring for the remainder of the first half. A solid Torrington defense maintained the pressure into the second half to shut out the Lady Bison offense for the final 40 minutes of the game.
While the final score favored Buffalo, the Lady Blazers demonstrated considerable growth from the previous season against Buffalo in 2025.
“There has been much progress from last year by the team,” coach Tyler Cram said. “We still have areas to improve on such as positioning and ball control. However, I feel that the team is being more aggressive in their game play and creating more opportunities for the offense.”
The Lady Blazers traveled to play Gering on Tuesday, April 1. Results from the game were not available at press time.
