GLENROCK – The Torrington High School Lady Blazers basketball team opened 2025 with a 55-32 routing of the Glenrock Lady Herders at an away game on Saturday, January 11.

A point-for-point first half ended with Torrington up by several possessions. Leaving it all on the court in a high-octane second half, the Lady Blazers netted 33 points in the third and fourth quarters to widen their lead by more than 20 points when the final buzzer sounded.

Torrington’s offense and defense gelled in the second half. Junior Natalie Long commenced the third quarter with a jumper. Senior Jaycee Hurley swept in to grab a steal and fellow senior Madix McIntosh scored on a fastbreak.

McIntosh snatched a steal and went on to toss in a close-range shot.

Taking possession, senior Teryn Stokes found an opening inside the perimeter to score. Senior Olive Osmera and junior Kennedy Reinhardt forced several turnovers with a string of steals.

Reinhardt scored from inside the perimeter and Osmera converted an and-1.

Long drew a technical foul and went 3-for-3 at the charity stripe.

Hurley began the fourth quarter with a free throw. Long and Osmera both scored layups. Reinhardt went on a four-point run, bracketed by steals from McIntosh and Stokes.

Osmera lined up an inside shot before Torrington’s reserve players entered the game to top off Torrington’s win in the final minutes of regulation.

Sophomore Kadence Schamel rounded out scoring for the Lady Blazers in the second half with four points while fellow sophomore Aftyn Hager grabbed a steal.
