TORRINGTON – Funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Jose Armando Flores, 95, will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday May 17, 2024, at the Saint Rose Catholic Church with Father Ray Moss officiating. A rosary will be recited Friday at 10 a.m. prior to the mass. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Colyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Jose Armando Flores was born July 4, 1928 in Terrero, New Mexico to Eligjio and Luz (Ortega) Flores. He was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Inez, parents, sisters; Mary, Lupe, Lena, Mary Lou, brothers; Max, Raymond, Elijio (Sonny), one son Joey Andrew Flores and grandsons; Joel James Weaver Jr and Jesse Flores. He spent most of his time in Torrington after his service in the Army with stops in Japan, Texas and California. He loved to sing and play guitar. Play as banjo as a child performer in small towns all over New Mexico with his dad. He also loved to hunt, fish, go garage selling, do word search puzzles, but most of all he loved to pray for and spend time with his family. He married the love of his life Inez Martinez on September 8, 1947 and loved her to the end.
He is survived by seven siblings; Grace, Stella, Lola, Jesse, Leroy, Rueben and Vicki. His children; Linda Valenzuela (Juan), Bobbi James (Mack), Max Flores, Peggy Chavez (Jesus), Jimmy Flores, Mike Flores (Gloria), Mandi Hernandez (John), 34 grandchildren, 106 great-grandchildren, 26 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild.
