TORRINGTON – Memorial services for John Gordon Temple, 80, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with John Pappert officiating. John died November 14, 2024, in Torrington, Wyoming and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project. John was born March 22, 1944, in Alliance, Nebraska to Don and Edith Temple. He grew up in Nebraska, Colorado and Wyoming. He graduated high school in Hanna, Wyoming. He began working for the railroad like his father, grandfathers and uncles. He soon decided he wanted to do something else and joined the US Navy. He ended up on the west coast and stayed. He married Marietta Cagle in December 1964. They spent twenty-five years and five days together until she passed. John married Susie Sills on May 14, 1994. Their marriage lasted thirty years and six months. John enjoyed model railroading. While still in California, the entire garage was trains as was the basement in Torrington. His involvement in the VFW was very important to him and he stayed involved till the end.

John is survived by his wife Susie Temple of Torrington; daughters Veronica Buntaran of Pahrump, Nevada and Miriam Bullman of Brownsville, California; sons Jim Cagle of Meridian, Idaho, Jerry Sills of Tehachapi, California and Michael Sills of Hayward, California; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Pat Dybdahl, Donna Eisenbarth and Lorraine Harris; a son Robert Cagle; and his first wife Marietta Cagle/Temple.
