CHEYENNE – The Torrington High School cross-country team boarded the bus a final time this season to compete at the 2025 State Cross-Country Meet on Saturday, October 25.
The 5-kilometer races for both boys and girls took place at the Little America Golf Course in Cheyenne.
Each of the nine athletes representing Goshen County at the state meet posted solid finishes on a particularly difficult course against challenging competition from across Wyoming.
“I’m really proud of how our team finished out the season,” coach Kelsey Grant said. “This course is one we’ve seen before and it is a tough one. A lot of our runners showed real growth by improving their times from earlier in the year. Not everyone finished where they hoped, but the effort and commitment they’ve shown all season has been outstanding.”
Overall, the harriers rounded out the season with the relatively young boys’ and girls’ squads fighting to and crossing the finish line.
“This group has worked hard, supported each other and represented our program with a lot of heart,” Grant added. “It’s been a great season and I’m proud of every one of them.”
Sophomore Cole Tregemba paced the varsity boys in the 3A 5K with a 36th-place finish and a time of 19 minutes, 6.50 seconds.
Freshman Stephanie Joe led the 3A girls from Torrington High School, reaching the finish line in 68th place at 27:21.50.
