Goshen County begins Christmas celebrations

TORRINGTON – The annual Christmas Parade, designated for 2024 as the “Holiday Sleigh Soiree,” was held last weekend in downtown Torrington. The event was hosted by Go Goshen and featured dozens of local organizations and businesses.

Kicking off the parade was the Torrington Volunteer Fire Department, which proudly led the procession with flashing lights. Other participating organizations included the Girl Scouts, Scottsbluff Valley Street Rods, McFarland Media, Blazer Cheerleaders, Wyoming Child and Family Development, Platte Valley Community Bank, 4-H Club, Marlene’s Tortillas, Butler’s Towing, Western Sugar, and the Lingle Police Department. Many participants in the parade threw candy to children, and local businesses offered hot chocolate along the sidewalks.

Crowds filled Main Street, many from Torrington but also visitors from around Goshen County and even neighboring counties. The event was truly a community effort, with businesses, civic groups, and individuals all coming together in the spirit of Christmas.
