FORT LARAMIE – The Fort Laramie National Historical Site welcomes the community to the annual Christmas on the Frontier celebration for an afternoon of crafts, music, performances, tours and a sense of Christmas from the past.
On Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the old fort will come alive with old fashion Christmas cheer. Crafts with Santa will begin Saturday at 10 a.m., followed by the 87th Wyoming National Guard Band performance at 11 a.m. The WyoRing Bell Choir will perform at 1 p.m. followed by the Sugar Valley Singers at 2 p.m. Martin Gilmore will take center stage at 3 p.m. and the Torrington Fiddlers take the spotlight at 4 p.m. Lantern tours of the fort are conducted at 5 p.m. The Goshen County Quilters will have quilts on display during the festivities Saturday.
“Come enjoy festive music, visit Santa Claus, learn about historic quilts, make vintage crafts and take a lantern tour to celebrate Christmas at the Grand Old Post on the Laramie,” the invite reads.
The event is offered free of charge to the community.
