TORRINGTON – The best firefighters from across Wyoming will converge on Torrington this week for three days of intense competition that promises heart-pounding action and jaw-dropping displays of skill.

The Wyoming State Firemen’s Association Convention brings elite fire crews to Pioneer Park’s drill field, where they’ll battle for supremacy in contests that mirror real-life emergency scenarios.

Thursday, June 12 at noon – Teams sprint across the field in the “Replacement and Wye” drill, executing split-second hose replacements while maintaining critical water pressure. One mistake could cost precious seconds.

Friday, June 13 at 1 p.m. – The stakes rise with the “Double Male Double Female aka Horn” competition, where firefighters demonstrate advanced coupling techniques under intense time pressure.

Saturday, June 14 at 11 a.m. – The weekend culminates with the “Cellar and Wet Test,” the ultimate challenge of firefighting precision and teamwork.

These aren’t just competitions – they’re showcases of the life-saving skills these heroes use every day. Watch as crews from dozens of departments execute maneuvers with military precision, their movements honed by years of training and real-world experience.

The competitions are free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to attend and witness firsthand the dedication and expertise of Wyoming’s bravest.

When sirens wail and seconds count, these are the men and women who respond. Now you can see why they’re heroes.

Pioneer Park is located at 15th Avenue and West D Street. Parking is available and spectators can bring chairs and blankets for optimal viewing.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see Wyoming’s finest firefighters in action. The skills on display could one day save your life.

Don’t miss out on the congratulatory parade down Torrington’s Main Street after the conclusion of drill competitions on Saturday.
