TORRINGTON – A funeral mass for Eleanor Dominguez, 82, will be held at 11a.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, at Saint Rose Catholic Church with Father Ray Moss officiating. Eleanor passed away peacefully at Torrington Community Hospital on March 28, 2025, and cremation has taken place. Eleanor was born May 22, 1942, in Yoder, Wyoming to Henry and Delores (Pineda) Castro. She grew up and attended school in Yoder, graduating in 1961. She moved to Torrington and married Diego Dominguez on December 29, 1962. They had three children, Don, Dan and Lenore. She worked at the potato cellar and the HeadStart program when her children were young. She later graduated from Eastern Wyoming College and started her longtime job at Lincoln Elementary, where she worked for 35 years, retiring in May of 2012.
Eleanor loved music and dancing, word search and crossword puzzles, gardening and playing games on the computer. She loved to shop and cook for her family. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids as they were her pride and joy. Eleanor was a member of Saint Rose Catholic Church.
Eleanor is survived by her husband Diego; sons, Don Dominguez and Dan (Lisa) Dominguez both of Torrington; daughter Lenore (David) Donner of Colorado Springs; granddaughters Alyssa (Wes) Aragon, Johanna (Zach) Whipkey, Brianna Chavez, Hannah Werner and Jenna Miller; grandsons Zaniel and Zyler Dominguez; great grandkids Brylee, Aspyn, Emery, Hayes and Nevaeh; brother Elindo Castro of Cedar Springs, Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; and five sisters.
