MORRISON, COLORADO – Dorothy Jean (Schwartzkopf) Smallwood, 87, passed away August 20, 2024, in Morrison, Colorado, after a long Illness.
She was born October 16, 1936 in Huntley to John and Lydia Schwartzkopf. Graduating from Huntley High in 1954 she immediately moved to Denver where she studied at and graduated from Central Business College. In 1958, she married Robert Dean Smallwood in the First Congregational Church of Torrington. They resided in the Denver area where they raised their two children with love and laughter. Dorothy was a homemaker while her children were young but loved using her administrative assistant skills in several jobs over the years, including Continental Oil Company, Rocky Mountain Charter Coach Company, The Denver, and Phelps Dodge/Western Nuclear.
Dorothy is survived by daughter Peggy (Dennis) and son Eric. Grandchildren: Ashley (Brian), Robyn (Nick), Mackenzie, Ainsley, and Breckin. Great-grandchildren: Cameron, Vincent, and Evelyn. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, Brothers John Jr., Ruben, and Don Schwartzkopf, sister Esther Ring, nieces Judith and Carol Schwartzkopf, Nephews Glenn and William Schwartzkopf, great-grandnephews Taylor Magdaleno, and Jett Schwartzkopf, and many aunts, uncles, & cousins.
