TORRINGTON – Graveside memorial services for Donna Darlene Fales, will be held at the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington on March 24, 2025, at 11 a.m. with Lonnie Crowe officiating. Darlene passed away peacefully at her home on January 18, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. Colyer Funeral Home assisted the family with cremation and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com. Memorials can be made to Waggin’ Tails Animal Shelter in Torrington.

Darlene was born November 12, 1937, to Howard and Erma (Estes) Whelan. She was the second of five siblings. Darlene received her early education in Hemingford, Nebraska, and graduated in 1955 from Alliance. In November 1954, she married Marvin Fales and they have been residents of Torrington since 1957. Darlene loved her family and all the special gatherings, all of her pets throughout the years, horse events, shearing contests, bowling tournaments, playing cards, casino trips, and bookkeeping jobs.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin; her son, Darvin (Kathy) Fales, daughter-in-law, Kathy Fales; six granddaughters, Trisha (Tony) Price, Linsay (Kyle) Jobes, Jamie (Trevor) Douglas, Dalari (Josh) Allington, Danielle (Stephen) Lloyd, Darcee (Sam) Strickler and sixteen great grandchildren, her sister, Gloria Brockel and one brother, Ron (Jan) Whelan.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, LaVonne Dilley and Mary Kay Bingham, two infant nieces and several brothers and sisters-in law; along with her beloved dog, Dollie and Tinkerbell the cat. Her son, Gary, most recently passed away as well.
