TORRINGTON – No services are planned for Donald C. Wunder, 80, who died at Torrington Community Hospital on April 9, 2023. Cremation has taken place. The Colyer Funeral Home assisted the family with the cremation arrangements. Condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com.
Don was born July 1, 1942 in Torrington, the son of Conrad and Rose (Shindledecker) Wunder. He grew up and received his education in Lingle, Worland and Torrington, graduating Torrington High School.
He joined the United States Marine Corp where he served for four years as an instructor on the M-1 rifle. After his discharge he returned to Torrington where he married Billie Jo Langdon. They were later divorced. He worked at Sunrise Mine for CF&I. When they shut down in 1980 he started work for a roofing company.
Don was an avid gardener and also enjoyed fishing and competition shooting in which he received many awards. He was a member of the Fort Laramie Gun Club for many years.
Don is survived by his son Donald Wunder Jr of Torrington,; a grandson Joshua Wunder of Cheyenne; a sister Nancy (Michael) Wingert of Yuma, Arizona; a brother John Wunder of Torrington; and step children Vickie Bohenkamp of Indiana, Jackie Prickett of Torrington, Brian Prickett of Wright, Wyoming and Brad Prickett of Torrington. He was preceded in death by his parents; his ex-wife Billie Jo; a grandson Evan Wunder; two sisters Shirley Deemer and Barbara Reed; and his ex-in-laws.
