TORRINGTON – The District 2 Little League Tournament kicked off Monday, with both Torrington All-Star teams facing Laramie, with the 11-12-year-old team dropping a 6-3 game and the 9-10-year-old team falling 17-5.
Laramie plated a run in the top of the first inning to jump out to an early lead in the 11-12-year-old game, but Torrington rallied with a run scored by Austin Short in the bottom of the frame. Bryce Hager came around to score in the second inning off of a home run to give Torrington a 2-1 lead.
Laramie scored three runs in the third to storm back for a two-run lead, before Short scored his second run of the contest, bringing the score to 4-3. The away team plated two additional runs in the fourth inning to up their advantage to 6-3 and held on for the win.
