District seeks student reps

GOSHEN COUNTY – Juniors of Goshen County School District have recently been invited to have the opportunity influence school district policy, advocate for change, add a unique item to their resumes and more as a district student representative on the board of trustees.

“Our student representatives act as important advocates between the school board and the student body, providing their perspectives to help us better understand and address the needs of our students. Their involvement highlights the importance of student voices in shaping our district’s future,” Goshen County School District Superintendent Ryan Kramer said.

The district announced the opportunity for county students to gain public speaking experience and serve as a liaison between the student body and decision-makers while representing the student body.

“This is a great opportunity for you to represent your school and share student input and opinions with the board of trustees regardless of your participation in clubs, activities/sports, or current grades,” the district explained.

Students can visit with school principal or counselor to pick up an application packet and completed applications deadline is Monday, December 2, 2024.

“Our student board representative program provides a valuable opportunity for our high school students to take an active role and participate in the school district’s decision-making process,” Kramer said. “I feel it allows students to put into real-world practice their leadership and communication skills and also provides an opportunity for our students to be heard as we shape policies that impact their education.”
