CHEYENNE – Nelson, Arthur (#35484), a Wyoming inmate, died January 7, 2025, at the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution in Torrington.

Nelson was convicted of five counts Aggravated Homicide by Vehicle (W.S. 6-2-106bi) and sentenced to 18 to 20 years, to be served consecutively to each count. He was also convicted on one count Driving Vehicle Under Influence of Alcohol - Serious Bodily Injury (31-5-233biia) and was sentenced to eight to 10 years to be served consecutively to count five. Nelson was given 591 days credit off both the minimum and maximum sentence. Nelson was sentenced in Carbon County by Judge Dawnessa Snyder. Nelson was born in Greyville, Tennessee on February 2, 1965.

Per WDOC policy an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death. WDOC does not release protected health information.
