GUERNSEY – A funeral liturgy for David Daryl Seyfang Sr., 77, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Guernsey with Father Ray Moss as the Celebrant. Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at the church, followed by the Vigil for the Deceased at 6 p.m. Interment will be in the Prairie Rest Cemetery near Guernsey.

David passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland, Wyoming, surrounded by his family, after a long battle with cancer.

David was born on Saturday, February 16, 1946, the son of John Henry II and Melvina Ella (Middleton) Seyfang. He was the youngest of nine children.

He graduated from Saratoga High School in 1965, attended the University of Wyoming, and earned a Bachelor degree in Art Education. He served in the Wyoming Army National Guard for over 40 years and retired in 2006. As an active volunteer in the Guernsey community, he served on the school board for 27 years and on the planning and zoning board, worked at the recycling center, was active with the Boy Scout Troop, and had a part in many other projects around the community. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to the mountains and his cabin, fishing, hiking, hunting, gardening, oil painting, and carpentry projects.

David is survived by his spouse of 49 years, Mary Seyfang; his children, Misty (Shawn) Thomas, Laura (Kelton) Lorenzen, Sarah (Raymond) VanNatter, David Jr. (Sarah) Seyfang, Scott (Terri) Seyfang; ten grandchildren, Haley, Katelyn, Mickayla, Nathan, Abigail, Payton, Madison, Kaison, Avery, and Reed; his mother-in-law, Mary McBrier; sister, Peggy Kizzire; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Seyfang II and mother, Ella Seyfang; four brothers, Edward, John III, Art, and Roy; three sisters, Mary, Judith, and Janeth; and his father-in-law, William McBrier.

A memorial to the David Seyfang Memorial Fund, C/O Banner Capital Bank, P.O. Box 219, Guernsey, Wyoming 82214 to be used at a later date for a tribute to his years of service on the school board.
